{"id":321,"date":"2010-08-01T16:20:03","date_gmt":"2010-08-01T06:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/denleymusic.com\/wordpress\/?p=321"},"modified":"2010-08-01T16:20:03","modified_gmt":"2010-08-01T06:20:03","slug":"violin-connect-four-violin-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/violin-connect-four-violin-game\/","title":{"rendered":"Violin Connect Four &#8211; violin game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One clever mother of a couple of my students suggested a Connect 4 game using some of the resources I already had. \u00a0It was such a great idea, I decided to post it here.<\/p>\n<p>To play you will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Skittle Gameboard<\/li>\n<li>Set of flashcards<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;letter name cards&#8217; from the skittle gamecards<\/li>\n<li>skittles\/smarties\/gummy bears etc<\/li>\n<li>2 to 4 players<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How to play:<\/p>\n<p>Each student turns over a flash card (one by one in a clockwise direction) and places a lolly on the appropriate place on the Gameboard. \u00a0The aim is to connect 4 notes in a row. \u00a0The student who does so gets to eat those lollies. \u00a0Can connect 4 on one string, across the strings ie all 4 first finger notes, or 1st finger on the G string, 2nd finger on the D string, 3rd finger on the A string, and 4th finger on the E string.<\/p>\n<p>The Gameboard can be found here: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Violin-Skittle-Gameboard1.pdf\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Violin-Skittle-Gameboard2.pdf\">Violin Skittle Gameboard<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Print out the &#8216;letter names&#8217; only, not the &#8216;instructions&#8217; from these cards: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Violin-skittle-playing-cards.pdf\">Violin skittle playing cards<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Print out these violin flash cards, either on coloured cardstock or plain paper: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Violin-note-flash-cards.pdf\">Violin note flash cards<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/fruit-skittles-loose.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-326\" title=\"fruit-skittles-loose\" src=\"http:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/fruit-skittles-loose-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/fruit-skittles-loose-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/fruit-skittles-loose-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.denleymusic.com\/musicblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/fruit-skittles-loose.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One clever mother of a couple of my students suggested a Connect 4 game using some of the resources I already had. \u00a0It was such a great idea, I decided to post it here.
